Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Industrial Building Maintenance Technician to support the overall cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of our manufacturing facility.
This role combines industrial housekeeping with general building and equipment maintenance.
The successful candidate will be proactive, mechanically inclined, resourceful, and capable of identifying and solving day-to-day maintenance issues while maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing facility, including production areas, equipment, shop floors, and exterior grounds.
- Perform heavy-duty industrial cleaning of plant equipment and work areas.
- Operate a forklift safely to move materials, equipment, and waste as required.
- Complete general building maintenance tasks such as painting, installing thresholds, replacing filters, repairing minor fixtures, and other handyman duties.
- Perform simple mechanical tasks, including removing and reinstalling covers, replacing filters, tightening fasteners, and making minor repairs.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and basic equipment upkeep.
- Identify maintenance concerns and recommend practical solutions.
- Respond quickly to changing priorities and maintenance requests.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements where applicable, and wear required PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to housekeeping, safety, and facility maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience in industrial housekeeping, facilities maintenance, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, organized, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety.
